Job Description

JOB TITLE:   Inside Logistics Solutions Manager I

REPORTS TO:  Director of Logistics Solutions & Customer Service

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:  Forms close & meaningful relationships with customers and sales team members to develop and grow specific territorial areas within the Ward footprint meeting individual, team, departmental, and company growth and sales goals.

Ward Transport & Logistics Corp. is currently accepting applications for a Full Time Inside Logistics Solutions Manager I in anticipation of upcoming or future growth opportunities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct high volume outbound contact through the use of telephone calls, email, or other social media tools to qualify leads and prospects for customer growth and development.
  • Ability to on board new and existing customers by speaking directly to their area of product/service need.
  • Work closely with Outside Logistics Solutions Managers (LSM) to support the growth of sales.
  • Understands all Ward sales products and services with ability to discuss and provide solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Interact with current and/or potential customers in a professional and positive manner.
  • Submit RARs for pricing as necessary for new and/or dormant accounts. Provide timely feedback to Pricing within the New Account Review Process and renegotiate contracts on a timely basis under Contract Management specifications.
  • Process customer requests for pickups, proof of delivery, bill of lading in a timely manner.
  • Contact accounts in accordance with established processes using the CRM and other marketing systems to manage the sales process.
  • Constantly strive to improve territorial revenue, shipments and special strike initiatives for each assigned account through the use of LTL 400 and other associated tools such as marketing database, customer call contact log, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a system insuring accounts are regularly worked through the inside sales process and continue to grow the process to ensure no customer is left behind.
  • Provide inside sales support, including service reports (or weekly service reports when applicable). Regular communication with customer and/or territory sales manager is required.
  • Analyze assigned overall book of business based on information within the database in order to form strategy for improving overall portfolio profitability.
  • Make assigned quota of quality outgoing telephone calls per day.
  • Make prospecting calls on potential accounts in order to qualify them for the appropriate Ward resource.
  • Establish credit and insure proper billing for customers by submitting a credit application.Assist with collection efforts as required.
  • Support teamwork by cooperating with others and willingly putting forth effort to achieve Company goals.Establish and maintain good working relationship with other team members.
  • Demonstrate personal reliability by consistently meeting attendance / punctuality commitments.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a passion for sales and sales activity, prior sales experience preferred but not required.
  • Goal orientated with ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task on a daily basis
  • Excellent communication skills to include both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Attentive to details with the ability to learn and absorb new information
  • Strong customer service skills to include prompt/timely follow up to customers.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, computing, and reporting skills.
  • Participate in company and industry roundtable discussions as necessary
  • Must have excellent people skills and ability to be flexible and adjust to change.
  • Must have strong organizational skills as well as have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have high degree of attention to detail and strong follow up skills.
  • Must be self-reliant and have the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be proficient with PC's and have a good working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Must have basic ability to use office equipment such as computer, printers, photocopier, etc.
  • Must be extremely customer focused with strong telephone skills.
  • Must maintain a professional attitude.
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects at one time.

Performance Criteria: (Quantitative and Qualitative)

  • Show ability to grasp functional knowledge (product and technical). Must be able to consistently pass routine knowledge assessments.
  • Strong customer outreach activity. Heavily weighted towards phone activity; email and social will be monitored as well.
  • Consistently hitting Hustle Goals, which include:
    • Type 3 RARs - 2/Mo. or 6/Qr.
    • Non Type 3 RARs - 4/Mo. or 12/Qr.
    • Leads sent to "Outside" LSMs - 2/week
    • Number of Apt. calls - 2/week
  • Ability to try and adapt new sales approaches and techniques
